Puppy Training, Obedience, Agility, Conformation, Rally and Flyball

Requirements

 

If you wish to enroll in a training class you must fill out and return an enrollment form along with a $25.00 non-refundable deposit. This will guarantee you  a place in the class of your choice. Enrollment form and class schedules can be found by clicking on this link  - Enrollment Form.

 

Beginners Class .. for dogs 5 mos. and older.

DO bring your dogs to the first night of class. (except Monday Evening)

 

The first night consists of orientation, which will start 15 min earlier than regularly scheduled class. We will go over the rules and regulations, show you the equipment you will need and give you a demonstration of what we will be teaching. Two lessons will be given at this time so that you may begin working with your dog at home. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. All classes are limited enrollment, so we may provide better instruction for you and your pet.

Puppy Kindergarten...for pups 10 weeks to 5 mos.

Bring your puppy to first night of class

The puppies start socializing the first night and the instructors observe and separate the pups according to their personalities. Puppy classes also have a limited enrollment, to give you and your pup the best instruction possible.

PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY: PLEASE SEND IN A COPY OF YOUR PET'S SHOT RECORD WITH YOUR FORM AND DEPOSIT.

THE REQUIRED VACCINES ARE:

DHLPP, AND A RABIES VACCINE

SHOTS REQUIRED FOR PUPPY CLASSES ARE TWO DHLPP VACCINES

Enrollment Requirements

 

Persons enrolling a dog for training must bring or send  in  proof of vaccination against Rabies and DHLP-provided by their veterinarian. Bordetella vaccination suggested. for puppy classes Bordetell vaccination are suggested.

 

Minors shall be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian during their class period. Vicious dog are not acceptable, this is at the instructors decision. Any dog previously or currently trained for attack work will not be permitted in the building.

Handlers should wear slacks or shorts and LOW-HEELED RUBBER SOLED SHOES.

Any person wearing open toed or open back shoes will not be allowed on the training floor.

Children may attend the class but must remain seated at all times, and must be forewarned not to touch any of the other dogs/

To cut down on the amount of accidents - please do not feed your dog for eight hours before class.

Please keep your dog groomed, and free from any excess hair.

 

  1. Excessive roughness or cruelty by anyone training their dog in a class will not be tolerated. Your instructor will determine what the proper correction is for your particular dog, taking into consideration the size and temperament of your dog. Also, the size and ability of the handler, and the results of the correction.

  1. Dogs not registered for a class will not be permitted in the building.

  1. Bitches in season are not permitted to attend, but the handler will come without the dog to learn the new exercises.

  1. An exercise area is provided at the west end of the building. Dogs are not allowed to relieve themselves in any other area. It is your responsibility to clean up after your own dogs using the equipment provided.

  1. No smoking or beverages in hand while on the training floor.

  1. Handlers must hold their dogs on a short leash and not allow them to come in contact with the other dogs.

  1. Dogs that are ill or suspected of illness are not to attend. Any trainee bringing a dog to one of the classes that had a canine contagious disease in their home must present a health certificate to the instructor, from the vet who handled the case. The certificate must state that the dog is good physical health. In cases of Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough, Parvo -at least 30 days have elapsed since the dog was in the infective stages.

  1. Once a dog has been worked on the floor, there will be no refund. Arrangements will be made for a credit. Contact your instructor if there is a problem.

  1. Single link, metal training collars - American, German or English made collars only. Measure your dog's neck and add two inches. Your training leash is to made of leather and be a minimum of 5 feet in length. The leash must have a safety snap.
